Our club was founded in the 1950’s when a group of friends got together, formed a non-profit organization, bought a house in N.H. and formed the ski club to make skiing more affordable and more accessible to more people.
We are part of a larger organization called the Eastern-Inter Club Ski League (EICSL.org). About 23 ski clubs belong to EICSL and each one is a little different and has it’s own personality. What makes the Polecats unique is our members. We’re laidback and easy-going and are just trying to enjoy the outdoors and the skiing/snowboarding. The atmosphere at the house is very friendly and fun. Our members range in age from twenty-something to sixty-something. Most of us are in our mid to late twenties though. In the winter our activities revolve around skiing. On a typical weekend, people arrive to the house Friday night, we hang out, socialise, play cards or darts or go to the local pub. Saturday we try to get up early to go skiing/snowboarding at one of the various resorts in the area. On Sunday we clean up the house and some people head home early, others get in another day of skiing.
We are a pretty open, easy-going group who are just trying to have a good time. If you are reasonably sane, not into too much drama and can chuckle at a good joke then you’ll fit in fine. Expert skiing skills are not required! A few of our members don’t even ski.
When there’s no snow on the ground we do a variety of other activities, we’ve had softball and basketball teams in the past. We’ve done hiking trips, kayaking and tubing on the Saco River and bar crawls in Boston.

We are the Polecats! A Ski and Sports Club in Intervale, NH. We are a club of around 30 members and are actively recruiting for more members to join us for the upcoming ski season! Most of us are in our late twenties/early thirties, though we have members ranging from twenty-something to sixty-something!! The lodge is a 13 room ski house with male, female and co-ed bunk rooms. The house has a full kitchen, dining room, cozy living room, large social room, four bathrooms, large bar, and a big, sunny wrap around porch.
Our members enjoy snowboarding, skiing, golfing, fishing, swimming, cycling, hiking, volleyball, ice climbing, rock climbing, cookouts and fundraisers. There is something for everyone at the Polecats!
The Polecats Ski and Sports Club is open throughout the year and full members enjoy access to the house year round.
